Patrol Leaders Workshop - 2012-13


As a part of our annual Scout Guide programme, the Divisional Association organized a Patrol Leaders Workshop 2012-13 at KV ONGC Srikona from 8th to 10th of February 2013 in which 187 Scout/Guide Patrol Leaders, Patrol Seconds and prospective leaders of 16 Vidyalayas of Silchar Division participated. The Workshop was based on the following Objectives:
·         To identify the Leadership Qualities and other soft skills
·         Train scout/guide to become an effective Patrol Leader and to follow patrol system
·         To provide hands on training experience in Scouting Skills
·         To bring a change in Attitude – which is very essential in the present scenario
The Workshop was inaugurated by Chairman VMC of KV Srikona on 8th February 2013 which was followed by a session on Patrol System. Shri. C. Mani, AC KVS RO Silchar  visited the campsite and motivated the scouts and guides to take develop leadership qualities. In the evening the participants played 10 team games in base method which they enjoyed very much. This was followed by a session on Hiking and Note Taking. After dinner, there was a campfire in which the participants presented their talents patrol wise. After Campfire, there was a session on Star Gazing followed by Patrol Leaders meet and lights out.
On the second day, after BP Exercise and Morning Inspection, there was a flag break in guide method. At the first session for the day, Shri. R. Senthil Kumar, AC, KVS RO Silchar gave a presentation on Leadership and Personality Development which inspired and encouraged participants to take up leadership responsibilities. The next session was an inter-patrol pioneering project building in which the participants reproduced the pioneering projects which was given to them in printed format. After lunch, there was a sing song session followed by spare time activities. In the evening, there was a Grand Campfire in which Principal of KV Masimpur was the chief Guest. There was a colorful show by the scouts and guides presenting various scouting skills. After dinner and Patrol Leaders meet, there was lights out.
The last day of the Workshop began with All faith prayer meeting. This was followed by a couple of sessions on soft-skills and scoutcraft skills. After lunch, there was a valedictory function in which certificates were distributed to the participants. After Flag lowering there was a  formal dismissal. The Workshop was lead by Mr. G. Bhuvan Babu, ALT(S) ably assisted by Mr. D. Chakraborty, Mr. RK Gupta, Mrs. Roel Mary Rose and Mrs. Rikta Mitra, Divisional Officials of KVS BS&G Silchar.
